



On April 30, 2025, Asst. Prof. Dr. Anwar Koma, Head of the Turkish Studies Center at Prince of Songkla University (#PSU), visited the International Academic Relations Office at Dokuz Eylul University (#DEU) in Izmir to explore opportunities for academic collaboration between the two institutions.
The meeting, held at the Rector’s Building of DEU, was attended by 16 professors and faculty members from a wide range of disciplines, including medical science, science, marine science, engineering, economics, public administration, business administration, political science, and social science.
During the discussions, Dr. Anwar extended an invitation to DEU to participate in PSU’s upcoming Global Citizenship Forum, which will include student exchange and cross-cultural engagement activities and will be organized by the Faculty of Political Science, Prince of Songkla University. Academic exchange was also a key focus, with both parties expressing interest in initiating joint research projects and faculty mobility programs.
He also informed participants that PSU provides funding opportunities to support international research collaboration and emphasized that the Turkish Studies Center is ready to act as a connecting hub between scholars from both universities. The Center is committed to facilitating connections between researchers with shared interests to foster impactful joint research projects.
Dr. Anwar received warm hospitality from Prof. Dr. Banu Durakan, Prof. Dr. Ulviye Aydın, and Mr. Koray Öz, whose kindness and support made the visit truly memorable. This visit marks a promising step toward strengthening academic and cultural relations between Prince of Songkla University and Dokuz Eylul University.
