วันที่ 29 มีนาคม 2566 นายโรเบิร์ต โกเดค เอกอัครราชทูตสหรัฐฯ ประจำประเทศไทย เป็นประธานในพิธีเปิดศูนย์นวัตกรรมทางสังคมเพื่อการบริหารการพัฒนาท้องถิ่นที่ยั่งยืน ณ คณะรัฐศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยสงขลานครินทร์ โดยมี ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ ดร.อัตชัย เอื้ออนันตสันต์ รักษาการแทนรองอธิการบดีวิทยาเขตปัตตานี พร้อมด้วยคณะผู้บริหารวิทยาเขตปัตตานี ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ ดร.สุรวุฒน์ ช่อไม้ทอง คณบดีคณะรัฐศาสตร์ และผู้บริหารคณะ เข้าร่วมในพิธีเปิด โดยมี ดร.ฮาฟีส สาและ รองคณบดีฝ่ายพัฒนานักศึกษาและการเรียนรู้ตลอดชีวิต คณะรัฐศาสตร์ กล่าวรายงาน
ศูนย์นวัตกรรมทางสังคมเพื่อการบริหารและการพัฒนาท้องถิ่นที่ยั่งยืน จัดตั้งขึ้นเพื่อสร้างองค์ความรู้ทางรัฐศาสตร์และนวัตกรรมทางสังคมที่เชื่อมโยงการแก้ปัญหาและพัฒนาพื้นที่จังหวัดชายแดนภาคใต้ โดยการสร้างและขยายเครือข่ายผู้มีส่วนได้ส่วนเสียในการพัฒนาจังหวัดชายแดนภาคใต้ ได้แก่ หน่วยงานราชการ องค์กรปกครองส่วนท้องถิ่น ผู้นำท้องที่ท้องถิ่น องค์กรภาคประชาสังคม สถาบันการศึกษาทั้งในและนอกพื้นที่ รวมทั้งนักศึกษา ศิษย์เก่า และบุคลากรของมหาวิทยาลัยสงขลานครินทร์ ตลอดจนให้บริการทางวิชาการแก่ผู้มีส่วนได้ส่วนเสีย โดยเน้นพื้นที่จังหวัดชายแดนภาคใต้
On March 29, 2023, H.E. Robert F. Godec, the Ambassador of the United States of America to Thailand, presided over the Opening Ceremony of the Social Innovation Center for Local Governance and Sustainable Development at the Faculty of Political Science, Prince of Songkla University, Pattani Campus. Asst. Prof. Dr. Attachai Ueranantasun, Acting Vice President for Pattani campus, along with the administrators of the Pattani campus, Prof. Dr. Surawut Chomaitong, as well as the administrators of the faculty, attended the ceremony. Dr.Hafiz Salae, Associate Dean for Student Development and Lifelong Learning, presented the introduction of the center.
The Social Innovation Center for Local Governance and Sustainable Development (SLS) was established to integrate the knowledge of political science with the development of the southern border provinces. Utilize, connect, and expand the network of the stakeholders in the development of the Southern Border Provinces, including government agencies, local administration organizations, community leaders, CSOs, the private sector, and PSU students, staff, and alumni. In addition, provide academic services for those stakeholders.
